2 Minute Warning
Buccaneers vs. Giants First Half thoughts E-mail
Written by Kyle Payne

The first quarter was all Bucs and for Eli Manning and the Giants it looked like it was going to be another frustrating afternoon. But, in the second quarter the New York Giants got pressure on Jeff Garcia and offensively Manning and the Giants got things rolling. At the half they lead 14-7 with Manning leading two touchdown drives where he was 9 of 10 with a touchdown. Tampa was shaken in the second quarter as Jeff Garcia was under constant pressure from Michael Strahan and the Giants defensive line. With that pressure, and with WR Joey Galloway not at 100% with a bum shoulder, it could be an early exit from the playoffs for the Bucs. As for the Giants offense, if they avoid a big mistake they could be rolling into the divisional round next week.

Steelers vs. Jaguars Game Recap E-mail
Written by Kyle Payne

What a finish! A quarterback draw on fourth and two with the season on the line! The Jaguars were on the verge of giving away a playoff game as Big Ben and the Steelers found their rhythm and piled up 22 second half points. Jacksonvile QB David Garrard threw two 2nd half interceptions after throwing only three during the entire regular season. But, Garrard redeemed himself with a 32-yard run on fourth and two with less than two minutes remaining. Josh Scobee added the 25-yard field goal and Jacksonville won the game 31-29. It was a game, much like the Seattle-Washington afternoon game, that had large momentum swings in the fourth quarter. The Jags had a 28-10 lead deep into the 3rd quarter, but the Steelers would not go away. In the end Jacksonville made the fewest mistakes and converted when they needed it most. Mike Tomlin will be questioned throughout the offseason for opting to go for a pair of two point conversions that both failed. Had the Steelers kicked those extra points, it would have forced the Jaguars to score a touchdown to win instead of just needing a field goal for the victory. The Jaguars will now await the Chargers/Titans game tomorrow afternoon to see where they end up. If San Diego wins, the Jags will take on New England in Foxboro. If the Titans win, Jacksonville will take on the defending Super Bowl champion Colts in Indianapolis. We will be back tomorrow right here on StadiumPSL.com to break down the Sunday wild card action. It will be the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. and the Tennessee Titans at the San Diego Chargers at 4:30 p.m.

Steelers vs. Jaguars First Half thoughts E-mail

I think it's safe to say the Jaguars are not intimidated by Heinz Field and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After beating the Steelers 29-22 in week 15, the Jaguars are putting it to Pittsburgh again tonight, 21-7 at the half. Maurice Jones-Drew has a 96 yard kickoff return to set up a touchdown and a 43-yard touchdown catch. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger has been picked off three times, one returned by Rashaen Mathis for a score. The Jags are a team confident in who they are and what they do, a valuable quality in the playoffs. It is going to be tough for the Steelers to get back into te game because now they are going to have to throw the ball, and that has resulted in 3 turnovers in the first half. Check back at the end of the game for the recap, enjoy the second half!

Seahawks vs. Redskins Game Recap E-mail
Written by Kyle Payne

The first three quarters felt about the same. After leading 10-0 at halftime, the Seahawks tacked on a field goal in the third quarter for a 13-0 lead. But, then came the fourth quarter. Washington scored an early touchdown, then turned a LaRon Landry interception into another score to take a 14-13 lead out of nowhere. After that the 'skins missed a couple of golden opportunities to turn some Seattle mistakes into points. The Seahawks regained the lead with about 6 minutes to go on a D.J. Hackett touchdown catch. Then, Marcus Trufant inercepted a Todd Collins pass and returned it for a touchdown to put the game away. In the short time it took for the Redskins to turn the game their way, they gave it back even faster. Another Collins pick was returned for a score by Jordan Babineaux to get to the final score of 35-14. For most of the game Washington was out of sync and Seattle finally took advantage toward the end. But, the Seahawks will have to play much better than they did today if they want to have any chance to win at Green Bay next week. Well, now its on to the nightcap, Jaguars at Steelers. This should really be a good one, check back at halftime for our thoughts!!

Seahawks vs. Redskins 1st Half thoughts E-mail

The NFL Playoffs are officially underway! Welcome to the first installment of the 2 Minute Warning where we will discuss all things sports right here at StadiumPSL.com. The first Wild Card game is at halftime and so far the Seattle Seahawks are pitching a shutout against the Washington Redskins, 10-0. We told you in our game preview right here on StadiumPSL.com that the Seattle crowd would trump the emotion of the Washington Redskins, and in the first half the crowd and the Seattle front seven have been the story. Seldom used running back Leonard Weaver has scored the game's only touchdown for the Seahawks and Josh Brown added a 50-yard field goal. But the story has been the consistent pressure that Seattle has put on Washington QB Todd Collins. When he has had time Collins has made some nice throws down the field, some of which have been dropped. If the pressure keeps up, and Seattle takes care of the football, expect the Seahawks to keep the 'skins at arms length. Come back at the end of the game for our game wrap-up and remember to check back in for the nightcap as well, Jacksonville at Pittsburgh!!
