The first quarter was all Bucs and for Eli Manning and the Giants it looked like it was going to be another frustrating afternoon. But, in the second quarter the New York Giants got pressure on Jeff Garcia and offensively Manning and the Giants got things rolling. At the half they lead 14-7 with Manning leading two touchdown drives where he was 9 of 10 with a touchdown. Tampa was shaken in the second quarter as Jeff Garcia was under constant pressure from Michael Strahan and the Giants defensive line. With that pressure, and with WR Joey Galloway not at 100% with a bum shoulder, it could be an early exit from the playoffs for the Bucs. As for the Giants offense, if they avoid a big mistake they could be rolling into the divisional round next week. One thing to watch for in the second half, the Bucs kept 8 men in the box during the entire first half and Manning hurt them with the quick passing game. If the Bucs back off of that defense, expect a more productive rushing attack from Brandon Jacobs. But, if they stay around the line expect more of a down the field attack from the Giants and specifically Plaxico Burress on some deep ones. Check back after the game and we will wrap this one up. |
