Sunday 4:30 p.m. – CBS Tennessee at San Diego The Tennessee Titans travel to San Diego looking to avenge their 23-17 overtime loss to the Chargers on December 9. In a game Tennessee controlled into the fourth quarter, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers threw a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to take the game to the extra period. Sunday 1:00 p.m. – Fox New York at Tampa Bay This may be the game that is drawing the least amount of attention on Wild Card weekend, but it may also be the most interesting match-up. These are two teams that are hard to figure out. The New York Giants looked like a Super Bowl contender in their first half performance last week against New England, but turned into pretenders during their second half meltdown. Quarterback Eli Manning can be frustrating to watch, but if the Giants can avoid self-imploding, they are tough to beat. Having Brandon Jacobs and Plaxico Burress healthy makes them a different team, but both have been injured throughout the season. For the Bucs, they may be the most overlooked of all the playoff teams. They benefited from the weakness of the NFC South, but can not be taken lightly. Jeff Garcia resurrected his career late last season with the Eagles and has been the steady hand that Jon Gruden was looking for to run his offense. |

Playoff Matchup #2 Jaguars vs. Steelers |

Saturday 8:00 p.m. – NBC Jacksonville at Pittsburgh On December 16, the Jacksonville Jaguars went into Heinz Field and turned the Steelers’ “terrible towels” into crying rags. The Jags ripped through the Pittsburgh defense by rushing for 224 yards and outgaining the Steelers 421-217 in a 29-22 victory. It would be Pittsburgh’s only home loss of the season, but it is one that will be fresh in their minds when these two teams line up Saturday night. Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard has quietly had a great season, but if the Jaguars’ offense is to be successful, it will have to rely on the backfield duo of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. They have combined for 1,970 rushing yards and 14 rushing scores. For the Steelers, Willie Parker will be the counter to the Jaguars’ rushing attack. He finished fourth in the NFL with 1,316 rushing yards, but the Pittsburgh offense rests on the capable arm of Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben put up huge numbers this season with 32 TD’s and a 104.1 QB rating. But that is enough about offense. |
